'Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth. '2 Timothy 2:15
As a Man Thinketh is all about fortifying your mind so you can build your own mental blueprint. On Day 1 we took on the discipline of waking up early. I hope you started working on that discipline. If you are -let me know on Instagram or send me an email.
We also read in Mark chapter 1, that Jesus woke up early and prayed, but what does THAT look like? Let me tell you what it looks like for me.
After I wake up before the sun rises, I make sure I block EVERYTHING from my phone for at least 60 minutes. (I started with 15 minutes and worked my way up to 60. Start with small wins).
Learn to be still.
Breathe and visualize your day/dream. (Make sure it's written down)
Pray for friends and family. (Let God direct who/what to pray)
Pick a scripture or devotional to read. (Have it ready the night before)
The goal of this time is to put courage into your soul. You want your mind to be prepared for the battle which is to come.
You're like, what battle? Let's read what John 16 says.
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world, you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] John 16:33
So yah, sorry, trials are guaranteed.
But, if we know this, we can learn from it, right?
I love what David did when he encountered trials, 'Further, David was greatly distressed because the people spoke of stoning him, for all of them were embittered, each man for his sons and daughters. But David felt strengthened and encouraged in the Lord his God. ' 1 Samuel 30:6
Daily Discipline #2 is centered around meditation and building affirmations into your day.
I can 100% say, this is one of the biggest game-changers in my day and my life. It's so important, I HAVE TO share it with you.
In order for my mind to connect with what my heart believes, I need to meditate and speak what God says about me. Plain and simple.
God gave you faith to see the future. He gave you words to build it, along with daily actions to move you forward.
FINAL THOUGHT
Before you go, let me leave you with one more thought to think/pray about. Take the time to read and re-read this quote. Then, ask yourself the questions below.
You shape the world as much as the world shapes you.
What specifically would you like to do to shape the world?
What areas mentally do you need to work on?
Self Esteem
Loving yourself
Fear
Shame
Comparison
Patience
What positive words can you use today to shape your world?
What is 1 thing you can do today to help shape your world?
What is 1 thing you can remove that is shaping your world negatively?
Is there a person shaping your world who should not?
Pick a scripture today to meditate on all day. Write it down and place it everywhere.
PRAYER
God, help me to see myself the way you see me.
Give me the courage to take action.
Help show me "why" I am on this Earth.
Take any weight, not for me.
Give me the friends I need for this journey.
Help me to humble myself for your glory.
